Overnight in Bolzano at Stadt Hotel **** (or similar)
Together with the guide, you’ll explore a hilly area where the beautiful lake of Caldaro is located. Expect some uphill in the beginning of the route, but no steep climbs: the path used to be a railway line and climbs gently. The green area is covered with forests and vineyards, with great views on the Alps all around.
Stop at a winery for a tasting of local wines.
Second overnight in Bolzano at Stadt Hotel**** (or similar)
Bolzano is a city rich in history, influenced by Germanic culture and surrounded by the Alps. Walk around in Piazza Walther and along the narrow central alleys, plan an early visit of the museum where Otzi mummy is kept.
The bike itinerary goes South along the verdant Adige valley and crosses immense fields planted with honeycombs and vineyards, always on a flat bike path. Along the way, the village of Egna, an ancient market town with beautiful streets flanked by arcades, deserves a visit. Finally we arrive in Trento, a city where history and modernity coexist perfectly.
Luggage transfer, overnight in Trento at Hotel America**** (or similar).
Together with the guide, leave Trento and continue pedaling along the Adige river, in an area dotted with castles, towers and forts, such as the mighty Beseno Castle, which dominates the valley from the top of a hill. We recommend a small detour to visit the beautiful historic center of Rovereto, made up of narrow alleys permeated by a medieval atmosphere. Here you’ll visit a coffe producer and have a typical espresso.
In Mori the itinerary heads West and, passing by the Loppio Lake, takes you to Passo San Giovanni. The beautiful Lake Garda is now at your feet! With an easy descent you’ll reach its shores.
Overnight in Torbole at Hotel Caravel**** (or similar).
Torbole and Riva del Garda are located in a beautiful position in the Northern corner of Lake Garda among green mountains (Monte Baldo, Monte Altissimo, Stivo and Misone) and by River Sarca, one of the main tributaries of Lake Garda.
Today we’ll ride by its waters and discover the green plain Northern of Riva and Torbole.
Second overnight in Torbole at Hotel Caravel**** (or similar).
Hop on a ferry and reach Garda! The cruise is scenic, bring a book with you, and sun cream. Back on the bikes, after some kilometers by the lake shore, you’ll reach a canal and ride towards Valpolicella.
This area is covered with vineyards. We’ll pass close to ancient rural house and elegant Venetian Villas: some of them are nowadays prestigious wineries and the visit of one of them is a great wine and cultural experience. We’ll sleep at Villa Giona, one of these precious country mansions.
To celebrate the arrival at our destination, we will taste Valpolicella wines, including the iconic Amarone.
Overnight at Villa Giona**** in Valpolicella.
The last ride is short: we’ll cycle from the Valpolicella area to Verona, charming historical town. Don’t dress to sporty today: you’ll leave the bikes at our shop in Verona city center and enjoy a walk around. At first we’ll enjoy a short ride with the funicolar which will take us to Castel San Pietro, a great view point to embrace the whole city center. Now it’s time for some free time. We’ll meet again in the afternoon to enjoy a cooking class and the dinner together.
After that, transfer to Valpolicella.
Second overnight at Villa Giona**** in Valpolicella.
Breakfast, check out and transfer to Verona airport or train station. (If you depart from a different location, let us know. A longer transfer might require an extra cost).
Arrivederci!
